Institutions
are companies who are usually well funded who are involved in the
production/distribution of a product for example films, advertising,
merchandise, music etc. Well-known institutions would be along the lines
of Disney, Warner Brothers, News Corp, etc. However these major institutions
are involved in many different areas of production and distribution. For
example News Corp has nationwide newspaper and TV channels such as Sky news.
This shows that News Corp mainly focuses on giving out information to their
audience. Whereas Disney work in areas such a children’s TV and merchandise
which get distributed globally. There are numerous institution companies, which
produce and distribute various media based products and below are just a few
institution logos.
As I am in a group of four working on our film trailer we decided as a group what institution would be most likly to distrobute our film if it was to be actually made. We decided to go with Paramount as they relate more to are film trailer than many other film institutions. Paramount are ranked as one of the largest studios and are located in America. A reason why we choose Paramount was they distribute many films with the same horror genre a few examples of their horror films are Paranormal activity 2, Friday the 13th and many others.
