Here are 3 flat plans designs for my poster promoting my horror film trailer 'Remembrance day'. When I was creating these flat plans I made sure that I stuck to common conventions which I had researched for example having the text stand out so it is easy for the audience to read. This helped me layout my own poster as I knew what key stuff I had to add in. After I created each flat plan I wrote key information below it so when I was creating my poster I could easily remember what colour I wanted, etc.
My favourite design out of these 3 flat plans for my poster would have to be the bottom one as it shows the audience that the poppy has been tampered with. This could show the audience that someone isn't showing their respect for the dead. It also seems to be more professional with more detail on it. I may take bits from each flat plan however for example the text from one and the image from another. I will design my poster on Photoshop as it supplies me with the tools that I need to edit my images, text and other common conventions.
