Location for poster

I had many ideas where to take the image for my poster, wheather it was in a studio or even outside in a location. Below are the ideas where I could have taken my image with pros and cons.

Outside
I firstly thought about taken an image outside on a location. As our film trailer was to do with remembrance day I thought about taken an image to do with poppies or even the actors that star in the film trailer. However I thought about the common conventions of a poster which would mean blending the text into the image itself. This got me thinking about our genre of the film trailer which is horror and poppies didn't see very scary. Whereas if I took the image in a studio I could easily add effects to it and add lighting. This would make my horror film poster more realistic.

Studio
So I then thought about taking the image in a studio. This would make it easier to take the image for example if I wanted to take a photo of a poppy I could then take a petal off of it to show someone had mistreated it. This then could relate to the genre of horror and the film title of remembrance day. I then could make sure of the lighting for the image to make it stand out. Many posters are shot in a studio adding the effects around it. Which is why I have decided to shot the image in a studio.
