I created a survey on survey monkey so I could find out what my target audiene would want to see on my film poster. Survey monkey allows me to make a survey online and send it to friends or display it on social networks such as facebook. In this survey I only got 10 responses but this still will help me create my poster for my target audience. I will take in all of the responses and try to create my poster around them.
My first question was to find out what gender the people that answered the servey were, by the image above you can see that there were more male than female.
My next question was what age are you this helped me by finding out if more of the people were youths, adults or an even older generation. As you can see above most of the people that answered my survey were the younger generation.
I asked next if they thought a poster was a good way to promote a film just to make sure that the answers they gave below were worth while looking at, many of them put yes it is however there was one person that said it wasn't.
Next I asked them what colours they would represent horror with. I did this so that I knew what colours to add to my film poster and not go against what my target audience thought. The main three colours were red, black and white however some did put yellow and dark blue.
I asked them what they expected the image to be of, I gave them options they could choose from however if they thought about something different they could put other. They could clisk more than one box if they pleased. As you can see the most popular answer was to have an image of the villian on the poster.
Only one person clicked other from the previous question, so I added a box so they could tell me what other stuff they would want to see for the image. The person put they would like to see key props added to the image.
Then I asked them what sort of text they would like to see on the poster for example colours and font. There were many answers to do with boxy or fancy writing with the colours red, white, yellow and black standing out.
As I have researched into poster I have seen that some have credits on them to credit the actors and creaters. So I asked my audience if they would like to see credits on the poster. Most of my audience said they would rather not see them on the poster.
I asked my target audience where they think my image for my poster should be taken. For instance in a studio or outside. Many of my target audience said that they would rather see my image taken in a studio, this would make it easier to edit. There was one person who commented that I should create it using a green screen.
Finally I asked my target audience how well lit my image should be. I asked this as I have found in my research that there are many different styles of lighting the image. It was very close inbetween light and dark with more people voting for it to be dark.
